Finally getting around to painting the bumpers and cladding on my car and figure some of the clips that hold the cladding on are going to break when they are removed. Does anyone know the part #? Any help would be appreciated.

luckymike had a post I remember that gave p/n and amounts of the entire cladding project. Check his out, find his posts, then search cladding.

Green T, When you did your cladding did you break stuff? If so what might I want to consider ahead of time? Thanks!

I've only removed a couple of pieces, never all of them. I do know that each car is different in the amount of gunk/rust/whatever is back there and how easy/difficult it is to pull them.

I remember one time I couldn't get the rear door cladding so I did a thread because it was driving me nuts. Well, it turned out there was a screw hidden behind the door seal. I'll see if I can find it.

Just take your time and don't force anything.

The parts will be similar on the sedan, one per door. On the coupe it's parts 53 that clips into the chrome and is threaded, 80 is a plastic washer, 89 is a plastic nut that is hidden behind the door seal rubber

I removed the cladding from the sedan for painting and just ordered the amount of clips (3 different styles IIRC) and grommets to do the whole car, trust me, you'll need em because the old ones will either split, crack, or break. Car will look nekid with out the panels in place LOL
