Phil Here Well I am wondering if anyone has ideas on how to protect our front lower fog light valances from those dreaded high curbs? Maybe we can develop a simple sensor to be installed low on the center section of the bumper. It could be activated if you came close to the curb and signal the driver with a little light or sound our SL horns. There seems to be some of these devices for sale but they look to complicated and expensive for me. I have seenjust the OEM parking sensors available for little money but i would not know how to hook them up?

I like to keep things simple, so what do you think guy's? Thanks...........

I solved that problem years ago! I always, always, back in. Any vehicle I drive, back in. Anyone uses my car, back in. Everyone in the family also backs their cars in.
A lot easier to leave a parking space when backed in also. Never had a problem with hitting the exhaust tips either backing in. Just don't back in so close.
If for some reason, can't back into a space...diagonal parking for example, I just don't park their, look for another spot.

I just flip the ADS switch to high and the car rises up about 2 inches - clears most curbs easily. if it's an exceptionally tall curb or if i'm not sure I just stop before impact.:grin
