Hi....I'm trying to figure out the paint scheme on my 83 300SD to get touch paint for the lower panels. Its Champagne on top (473). There is no other code listed, it looks like a form of brown. Anybody have the same scheme?

Maybe its the photo, but that car doesn't look Champagne to me. I assume that you have looked at the paint code on the door. But, has the car been repainted?

Hmmm.... I just noticed your car is an '83. Light ochre was not available on W126s until '85.

Either way, I could not find a code for the lower panels. Maybe somebody will step in with the info or you may have to contact MB.

Based on that chart, the OP car looks like Sahara Yellow - 673

Agreed, unusual and elegant. Tones of brown is very much the '80s.

I'm also one of those odd ducks that likes the Gen I lights over the IIs and even euros. I think Bruno would agree.

Thanks everyone....the Chinchilla looks like the correct match. The photo was during bright sunlight, but it is the #473 Champagne, original paint other than the drivers door that looks to have been done at some point. The car for the most part it all original with 157000 miles, other than of course the 2005 E350 rims. Thanks again for all the replies!
