I am considering purchase of a blue SLK32 AMG but the current owner doesn't know the exact paint color. He thinks it is "Cobalt Blue," but I am only familiar with Sapphire Blue (the color of my 320) and Bahama Blue (darker). I recall there being somewhere in the car or owner's manual where the original factory paint code is written. Does anyone remember where this is? Also, please see the attached image; does this look more like Bahama Blue than Sapphire?

I don't know what the year was,but I looked up 2002 and there was no Cobalt Blue. Here is a link to the available colors for 2002. http://www.carsdirect.com/research/mercedesbenz/slk32_amg/2002/base/colors

Have the owner open the drivers door. There is a sticker on the car that is now visible to the right. The paint code should be listed on this sticker.

Only 2 blues available: Bahama Blue and Sapphire Blue

However, there was one US-spec car painted in Designo Mystic Blue for the 2001 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

This car is a MY 2003. Does this picture look more sapphire or more bahamas? I'll get him to look up the paint code on the driver side door, but in the mean time I'm trying to guess.

The color looks like the darker Bahama Blue, but every computer doesn't always show the same shade. The door jamb sticker will tell the tale...
