I’m reconditioning a 1998 w210 E320 sedan. Outside silver inside grey. The package tray is badly faded (see pic). Under the headrests it’s kind of a charcoal color. The exposed area is a purplish grey mess. Is the original color black or some lighter shade? I see spray on automotive carpet dye in black, charcoal, and gray and want to try that. And what about those speaker grills? Should be same color? Thanks in advance.

well not sure what the factory color is but ordered this spray carpet dye and will post photos when finished. I plan to take out the package tray to put some speaker on the back deck later this month.

I sprayed a parcel shelf with pretty good results. Mine is stiff though, I wonder if it helps if you ruffle it up a bit between coats?

I think I read in the reviews on amazon you can brush it or whatever after it dries and it is softer
