Last night I read the SL600 owner's manual. Tonight I am reading the Vanquish S. I wanted to compare the two. What a difference.

The SL600 is like every other owner's manual I have ever read, very informative and tells you exactly how to use the features of the car.

The Vanquish S owner's guide on the other hand is UNLIKE anything I have ever read.

I spends half of the time talking about the features of the car and the other half talking about how to drive the car and properly break it in.

I didn't know I'd actually have to read every single word in this manual before I would be qualified to drive the car. When you are reading this manual you don't get the feeling you are going to experience a car. It is kind of like driving something that is much more advanced and quite frankly requires time and attention.

Wonder where those "Cliff Notes" are? Anyway, very interesting and quite frankly, very shocking. Did not expect to see this but it makes me even more excited to get my hands on this machine. Yes it is a machine, it is not a car.

When I had to wait 1000 miles to give some gas to my SL600 it seemed forever. Well, on this car it is 2500 miles and their are sections on breaking in all the different parts of the car like the motor, transmission, tires and brakes just to mention a few.

I thought that when you talked about bedding something it had to do with women. [:)] I never knew you bedded in brake pads. [:D] [:D]

Car will be here in 5-6 months. UGH!

Hey Lovin, I'm back! Sorry, had to take time out to purchase a new primary residence and handle all the details of that etc. Anyway, I'm sad that you are trading in your SL600, but glad that you are finally achieving some level of resolution with all the problems you've had. Of course, selling your car is the ultimate resolution and it is cetainly a shame that it had to come to this. I can tell you really excited about the Aston Martin. I will be interested to hear about it when you finally get it so don't forget about all of us here. As for me, the jury is still out on this vehicle. I mean, I'm still angry about not being able to control my preselected radion stations from the steering wheel. I have called numerous times on this but nobody gives a &*%$. They do admit that it would be nice if the car could have this feature, but they give no indication that they are doing anything to bring it back to the new models and or if it will be a retrofit. I'm just unhappy with MB, I still like the car and my dealer is great! So we'll see. But you know Lovin, and I've said this before, but it's the thrill and the anticipation of waiting for the "new" car that makes it so great. Good luck

This all sounds very complicated. I would suggest that you make room for a few of us, and assign us as “break in team specialist. A team for the motor, a team for brakes, and so on. We will drive around the clock for you to build up your mileage, sparing you from the boring job of doing this yourself. LOL[:D]
