Outside Temp Sensor

I noticed what I believe is my outside temp sensor hanging by a cord from under my front bumper around the driver's side fog light area on my G500. I looked under the bumper to see where it went, but I could not locate the spot. Does anyone know where the outside temperature sensor goes on a 2003 G500?

It is attached behind the left plastic bumper extension.
