I’m getting high readings on my outside temp gauge. Typically them temp reading is 2-3C higher than the outside temp.

I recently topped up the coolant with around 200ml and the oil was a bit low so I topped it up by around 400ml – oil is reading just above mid way now. Perhaps I overfilled the coolant?

Where in the engine bay is the stat for the outside temp? Is it even in the engine bay? Having looked into it earlier I didn’t get the sense that the bay was expelling heat, it’s an Auto A140 so it’s not exactly sitting on the limiter in everyday driving.

Can these outside temp stats be troublesome? Any known factors that can cause them to ready higher then normal? When the car is parked overnight the temp seems Ok on startup.
