My dad passed away last night after a greater than ten year battle with illnesses stemming from Vietnam and Agent Orange. He held on long enough for me to get to his bedside, and his heart stopped as soon as I walked in the room. He waited for all three of his sons to be together...for the first time in over 3 years.

Rest in peace Pops...no more pain, no more suffering.

my dearest condolences to you and your family. may he rest in peace. my dad is 72 years old and i always get frightened by the idea of him dying... he is fairly healthy just a bit of blood pressure and mild diabetes.... i guess there are those once in a lifetime experiences that we must encounter.

My condolences, jp.

My dad died earlier this year. It's a shock no matter how old or ill they are.

My condolences also. I lost my dad 26 years ago and I still miss him, sometimes I think that I'm just three years shy of his age, but I,ve already been thru the big C and plan on going on for a lot longer. I,m glad you were together.

As your Dad's brother-in-arms, I offer my sincere condolences. As he walked through the Pearly Gates, I'm sure that St. Peter said "Welcome Home!"

Our thoughts are with you. As others have said, no matter how young or old, how well or ill, it still comes as a shock and it is a loss. Be strong for your family.

May I add my condolences as well. I was fortunate to escape agent orange exposure during my tours in Viet Nam, but some of my friends flew Ranch Hand operations, and were not so lucky.

Glad to hear you got back to see him. My Dad was too far away and I could not get there. Always a sad time, even when the time has come. Sincere condolences.

I also wish to offer my sincere condolences to you and your family for your loss.

My father passed away almost 2 years ago and I still miss him terribly.

It's sad that sometimes you truely understand the value a person has in your life is after you can no longer tell them yourself.

I'm glad you got the chance to be there with him even if it was for just a short time.
