Whew! guys, i just got back home after fixing a puncture in my left rear tire. What the ... !! It was a long tear and 2 phillip screws buried deep inside the tire; which means I must have been driving the car with a flat for a while.. but unlike most times, I would be able to feel it. But this time, I was totally unaware!

Anyway, the fix-it tire came in handle. I actual left it at home, so I had to leave my car at the petrol station, took and cab home, and went back to fix the tire.

Lesson learnt..

1. Avoid construction sites.. there are plenty of screws and nails lying around.

2. Have a good relax attitude toward the whole situation.. it will make the you feel better and less stressed.

3. Trust you wife's instinct! Hee.. It was my wife who told me about the "funny noise" coming from the rear.. if not, i would had been stuck in the highway.. that would be a worst scenerio!!!

Two punctures, yeah MB handles them with ease. Even more...
:D:D:D
If you wouldn’t' P.O. your neighbor so often, maybe he wouldn't dump a box of nails in your driveway......

Finally managed to get my tires changed. The damaged one was way way way too damaged to be repair. Sigh..

To make matters worst, i am running Goodyear in the front and Conti Sports 2 at the rear...

So finally, I changed all to Goodyear F1 eagle; at the same time, since my fronts are good, i traded them in.

Total damage = 800 SGD (or about 500-600 USD) for a set of 4 tires..

well, I'm good for another 40,000km...

haha..

When I was building my house I constantly got nails in my tires. Since I was the Project Manager and it was my house and land, I tried to keep everyone from just leaving nails everywhere but it's almost impossible to keep them from landing on the ground around the house and eventually you get nails and screws all in your tires.

ha! over in this part of the world, its more cynical.. most of us suspect tire shops are the ones that scatters nails n screws around... this way, they can get more business.. haha.. there's no prove about this though.. but highly probable.. ;P

Well I guess it is my fault then that I am the only guy in the neigborhood to have two MB's in my garage:surrender:... no, that is not good enough reason, but maybe it is because the guys in the neighborhood have heard from their wives :argue:that I have bought the SLK32 for my wife as a birthday present and the ladies expect similar treats from their hubbys...:twak:

:D:D:D

This tire came from my S430 a couple of years ago after we had some big hail storms in the area and a lot of roofers were working around. One day there was a cardboard box on the road, I barely missed it (someone else had driven over it already) and while at home, I noticed that my rear tire was full of those roofing nail punctures. To my surprise, not a single puncture in any other tire.

I guess tire shops had rocketing business that summer.
