How do you think these car's would handle on a normal USA highway? I think these cars are actually safer than what we drive. Look at the accidents on the track. People are still alive. Get in an accident on a highway similar to one on a racetrack with an everyday vehicle, you really might not be around.

It's a bit different when two cars of the same weight tangle with each other. If a 1200 pound (?) F 1 and a 4400 pound SL got into it I doubt if the results would be the same.

Not to mention tangling with an Expedition, Suburban, Yokon, or 18 wheeler. I would not want to be sitting behind the wheel of an F1 and be involved in an accident with one of the vehicles.

I remember it wasn't all that long ago the one F 1 landed on top of another. The driver of the bottom car literally had tire skid marks on his helmet.......... I have to think that the end result would have been very different if it were a Yukon.
On rethinking this, it may have been an "Indy" car, but they are similar, not the same, but similar...

It's good to know that I should not accept a challenge from one while in the 32..

I was wondering what cars I needed to worry about when driving the SLK32 ! Every day I become more impressed on its speed, and how fast it really is, and the fact thay few stock cars on the road can go against it. I actually was on the Pocono Speedway with a couple of F1 cars, during an afternoon open track session, with the Miata club, while driving my SLK230, pre Vaeth pulley kit. It was a great afternoon, at times it was just me, 3 F1's, and a Z06 Corvette on the track. When they hit the 'strips' on some of the Apex's I could see their tires leave the road. The most impressive thing from my viewpoint was
how fast that they could make the turns. They were also 'yellow' so I could see them coming, and ALWAYS let them pass me (like I had a choice). Then I had an open track again for awhile, because it would take them 5-6 laps to catch me and pass me again..

When we talking F1 - i assume we talking this:

LelloSLK, did they had F1 cars on Speedway ? There are few in private collections, but i think owners rarely take them out, especially with other cars on a track.
