Hello Friends,

I was just browsing through ebay.com.au and melbourne's craigslist and I found that there is not much cars or even autoparts you can buy in Australia websites compared to our American Ebay and craigslist. So, do we think its because these sites are not very popular with Australians or its just that they have way less population and hence less selection of products to buy?

Would be curious to know that if people dont buy auto and autoparts from these sites and then where do our friends down under buy the cars and car parts from?

Although Australia has far less population (20 million) we are very urbanised (more than 50% live in the 6 or 7 capital cities), and we have more makes and models of cars than just about any country. So selection of products is huge - places to buy rather limited.
Most people don't buy cars or parts from e-bay. We use websites like carsales.com.au, the newspaper classified ads like Trading Post, and car dealers, or the independent parts suppliers and retailers like Repco or Auto-barn etc.. We have strict consumer and trade practices laws and so stepping out into e-bay for significant purchases is seen to be rather risky as we would have likely given up any recourse if we get ripped off.
Different market to the USA. It's a big world out here...
