I frequent General section, this one and W124. Occasionally lure in W163 as we don't have ML anymore.
So General section at this time has 3 visitors.
This one 263.
W163 section used to be very active, but they have only 223 visitors.

I watch the general section also. I think Off Topic is the most active, but as far as model specific forums go, I think we are assuredly the most active.

If I'm not mistaken, W210 was most popular MB, perhaps highest in sales, it boosted MB's revenue. Most popular car in most popular forum, 1+1=2.
Go to $200K SLS forum, there's a rich guy talking to himself.

The 107 SL forum is very active too. This one seems a bit less so recently. maybe we need Olord and Pluto back ;)

Hey Musikmann - I see you are doing your bit 15000+ posts?? since 2006!!

BTW - How would we define "active"? Several forums have more posts, but I guess we need posts/day or something like that.

I know W163 section was the most active on this forum few years back. Lot of young owners had to learn new technology and at $32k the cars were pretty affordable.
I guess they don't age as gracefully as W210 who is the same age?

A quick check of the main forum page shows that 126 has the most posts to date of the chassis forums (admittedly an older car built over a longer period so they got a head start on ownership depending on when Benzworld came on the scene), but as I post this, there are 10 more viewing 126 than 210.

Off Topic is the hands down winner ... if you count pointlessness as activity!

Hehe MBGraham, could be that I get too wordy at times. I agree posts/day would be a better yardstick.

As of now there is 190 visitors on W126 and 300 on this one.
Post count is one activity, but I remember several members admitting reading the forum for tips for a year till they decided to make new topic with more serious problem.
For me the visitor counts show that we do have lot of W210 owners, who really care about keeping the cars running in good condition.
Those cars age and some problems might become more frequent. On our 98 model, the cover around passenger switches bend out and was sticking out of the panel. I tried to pull it and it shatter in my fingers. That is obvious sign of aging.
More to come for sure.

126 owners tend to be older and need to sleep later. :D No doubt they'd have more viewers if this thread hadn't been dumped from 126 to OT.

I'm actually very fortunate I got this car... When I got rid of my 08 3 series and I was hunting for a car to buy I was thinking about getting my hands on either a 2008 M5 or M6 cause I wanted a sportier and faster car, which my parents we're strongly against since I completely demolished the 3 series and they pushed me to get a luxury sedan.

Anyway I saw the E-class at some used car dealership for 8900$ and 146k and decided to give it a shot. I went up to the salesman got the car fax/service records on the car and then offered him 7k which he didn't like at first but after a week he called me back and told me he would take the deal.

I was lucky I picked a 2000 cause the car had just undergone a major face lift for that model year as well. After I got the car, I detailed the hell out of it and have been enjoying it ever since I bought it. Spent quite a few dollars modifying it and fixing loose things here and there (repainted entire car and got rid of rust spots, got 18's rims/tires, projector headlights, flat hood badge, big star grill, changed the lights to HID's, changed all the interior lights to LED's) just to pretty much make it look more modern and brand new.

Using this site and all the stickies I managed to do a lot of the repairs myself and saved quite a bit of money and had tons of fun along the way. This car is the best (even though its not that quick since mine is an E320) and I'll never get rid of it!

I have been too busy to get on here and knock on wood... KNOCK ON WOOD.. The most major malfunction my car's had was my little fender bender (I didn't see the old man driving his camry on the blind curve and hit him... The benz won though, with $2000 in damage and my insurance totaled his camry since it was worth less than repairs...).. and a dead battery because I left my lights on IN THE GARAGE..... My car has roughly 122K and had 110K when I got it in March.. Anyway, I guess I need to get back on here
