Got nuttin' but time

SWMBO broke her leg last Thursday - I'm playing Nurse Cratchitt and thinking about my 33 foot sailboat sitting in the harbor at the yacht club, the SL with its top down in the driveway and I am cooking, doing the wash, helping her move from one roosting spot to another, squeezing in some of my consultant work and generally feeling handcuffed. Soon there will be about 100 flowers to stick in the ground. Stairs are a challenge for her and it takes three to get out of the house regardless of what door we use. Two months in a cast that only fits into Colonel Klink, the 420 SEL. It's going to be a long spring and early summer.

Best wishes to her to heal up well and soon. But you know they have home health nurses and housekeepers for that kind of stuff, don't you?

Best wishes to her, and to you as well since it's always hard on the helpers as well as the injured.
Besides their parsimony, Scotsmen were (are?) noted for their male chauvinism.
This is a true story.
My mother had a leg amputated late in life. The next door neighbour, an unreconstructed old Scot, asked my father how she was doing. My dad, a partially-reconstructed Scot, said (joking): "Well, she's back to doing housework but I have to hold her up at the sink while she washes the dishes."
The neighbour (not joking) replied: "Jeez, that must be hard on your back."

Thanks

Thanks to all of you for your support. Dig, she loved her teddy bear. I was feeling glum, but she says she "can't kick." I remember that she knocked herself out taking care of me about five years ago when I shattered my leg and was out of action for almost nine months so I guess turnabout is only fair. Anyhow, I get to do lots of errand running in the SL, so it isn't all that bad, especially with the sunny weather in the high 60's and 70's. She gets a new smaller cast next week so it ought to improve our mobility.
