Blew two fuses in the last week. Replaced them with old, white 8 amp fuses that I found in the car tool kit when I bought it. They came in a small, clear plastic box with a Benz star that slides open. Was this an original fuse kit that came with the car? All I know is that these old fuses seem to be working great.

If they have aluminum tips, in your desert environment, they will work just fine - for a good while, anyway :).

Many of us have experienced problems with them, and the gold tipped low-current fuses seem to be trouble-free. When I bought my cars I replaced them all immediately. The PO of my 560 cautioned me that if I let the car sit and funny things happened, just remove and reseat the fuses.

PS: I was there a few years ago, and WOW, was it hot. Dry heat or no, 116 degrees is really freaking hot! I saw many W107's and W230's there, with very pretty women in them, some as drivers, some as passengers. Oddly enough, no W129's, though.

Mine came with the same slide open box. Part of the tool kit. Called a spare part box on EPC. As strife mentioned...best to replace them all with the gold/brass tipped ones.

And yes 116 is hot...been there...done that and repeat every summer...lol. It lets you know real quick if your cooling/AC systems are up to snuff.
