my car looks almost perfect from the rear with stock springs but the front looks like it just way too friggin high, so i ordered the eibach springs to replace the front, 1.2 in front 1.2 in the rear...should i even bother replacing the rear because i am going to get the same results just lower correct? i essentially want both sides to be either exactly the same height or the front with a lower stance for the aggressive look...car just looks funny with like 8 inches in the wheel well...

one other thing if i dont use the rears i will be selling them if anyone is interested...

its an illusion...the rear wheel well is lower
BTW when you lower you will see the similar effect, while the front will be just touching the wheel well rim, the rear will be in the wheel well

thanks for the reply...so i think i am going to lower just the front...with what you can see from the pic you think lowering the front 1.2 will work out well and give it a better look?

i had that done...prior to lowering my rear...
the car looks soooo much better that way! very agressive! I loved it...but then my oem springs crapped out...rusted lower coils on both of them...so i didnt want to spend money on oem coils while i already had a pair of brand new Teins, from the set...
So i ended up lowering it all around...
What i recommend is to get sports shocks and struts...THAT makes a very noticeable difference in the ride! 1mln % better!

i am considering that actually...so basically i should look into replacing the front struts shortly after installing these springs? anyways the struts will just provide a better ride right and wont affect the height? one other thing, did you do your own work? if you want to help me out i got some cash but i was quoted 90 bucks for the swap out somewhere...

I would highly recomend getting the struts replaces the same time...cause you have to discharge the strut anyways to swap the coils...so it would be much easier to have the new struts loaded with the coils, rather than discharging the stock struts then loading them with new coils..etc you got the idea...
i went through that twice...and had to pay for the loading/onloading of the struts twice...anyways.
Other than that its a piece of cake...make sure you have T80( i think) you will need that to get the strut off.
$90 bux seems more than resonable! I would help you out but i have a little girl and have a hard time getting time to do my own stuff. but if you need any advice i can be available...where in Boston are you?

its the allen wrench looking tool..i will check my tool box to get the exact size...but very essential and might be rare find...took me couple of stores to find it
I would say if you can...wait...get the struts and do it all at once...but then again you are probably dying to see your car lowered

actually i think i have that tool in my collection and you're right i am quite sick of looking at the front of my car...if it's a money issue i wont have any problems repaying to get all put in later but ya my only concern is saftey or damaging components with these springs installed...if they wont then i dont care about waiting 1-2 months before installing the beefed up struts...

Changing coils should give you any problems...
Btw..saw your post regrding the rear struts...i would say keep them..check out my post where i show the pic of the OEM coils in the back rot right through and snapping... you have a 2003, i have a 2002...you are not too far behind, it might happen before you know it... plus installing those is about .5 hours per side

I didn't like the look on my c-class either with the bigger gap up front between tire and fender and the smaller gap in back. Our cars have a little rubber spacer that sits between the rear springs and the body that is used to adjust the ride height in back. Their are four different spacers and you can tell them apart by how many bumps or nubs are on the spacer, one nub = thinnest, four nubs=thickest. You can feel them if you stick your hand up in the wheel well. When I installed H&R springs, I also installed a thicker rubber spacer in the back to raise it up a tad. I had a spacer with three nubs originally and replaced it with a four nub spacer. Not a huge difference, but it helped a little.

so you install the h&r springs up front and just used a bigger spacer in the rear?

I installed H&R all the way around with the thicker spacers in back.
i am just slightly confused, do i need an extra set of spacers then from mercedes or you just adjust the spacer already installed? i would love to install all 4 springs and just the height int he rear accordingly...also the front cannot be adjusted correct, you just get the specified drop with the springs?

right, there is no adjustment on the front. I bought a new set of thicker spacers with the four nubs from the dealer. When I installed the rear springs, I removed the thinner 3 nub spacers and replaced them with the 4 nub spacers so the drop in the rear was not as much as it would have been had I not replaced the spacers.
