Hello everyone,
I have put a deposit down on a black 2014 ML350 4Matic a couple of weeks ago in Massapequa, NY (for those in the area) and it will be built 2nd week of November for a delivery date of early December.

I ordered it with the following:
1)Lighting Package
2)Sports Package w/19inch wheels
3)Premium 1
4)Harmon/Kardon
5)Multi Ambient lighting
6)Keyless-Go
7)Almond Beige/black leather

This is my first Mercedes and I've been debating whether the other options such as Lane Tracking, Parking Assist or the Driver Assist Package are useful and worth it. I figured I always look over my shoulder now quickly to change lanes so why need Lane Tracking, and well parking your car is parking your car. This would also be my first SUV after driving sedans for years so it makes me feel like these options might be more necessary. Since my car isn't going to be built until Nov. I assume I can still make changes to the order.

For those of you that have these options do you think it was worth it or did you just end up turning them off.

I appreciate your opinions.

I really like the adaptive cruise control and blind spot assist. Lane tracking and park assist has not been that useful.

I do like the passive lane tracking/blind spot, but didn't want the active model (read a few interesting things, attempts to avoid things in the road and the car puts you back in the lane with the obstacle as an example. Sure it's more helpful than harmful, but I opted to save the money.) Headlights are great. Prem 1 is pretty obvious must-have. I like keyless go, and the ambient lighting is great (esp for the cost.) I would debate the leather option personally as I've heard that the MBTex wears much better over time. With that said, the leather is very nice (leather I've had in the past tended to split/crack/wear, especially on the driver's bolster...so I stuck with MBTex in hopes of avoiding that.) Lighting package is very nice, but never drove one without so can't really comment on the difference.

Since I´m living in Sweden and have my MB equipped accordingly I don´t know what´s included in the US packages. However I´m very happy with the 360-degree camera. If your car isn´t to be delivered with the camera then add it to the list of changes! Good Luck!

The blind spot assist has already maybe saved me.. I like that option and as I remember it is part of the lane assist package. Your MB sounds very well equipped. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine! Forgot to mention.. I got MB Tex and quite frankly no one has noticed it isn't leather, even me. It is said by others that it wears better and doesn't crack.

Thanks for your opinions. I was definitely going to add the Lane Tracking Package aand Trailer hitch but it looks like my car went into production according to the dealer and changed cannot be made now. I am surprised since they told me last week production wasn't happening till 2nd week of Nov.

I am a little disappointed but I guess since I never had these I won't miss it and I should be happy I'll have a new car soon.

I am in the same boat as you, I custom ordered the car I wanted and then there was one extra thing I wanted and was informed that the order was now locked. As Jay pointed out to me in another thread, it's time to just enjoy the wait for the new car and enjoy it even more when the car comes in! As you mention, we won't know it if we don't have it (or at least that's what we need to tell ourselves).

The one option I wish I had added was the MB-Tex wrapped dash...I have it on my current GL and thought it was part of the leather package, apparently I was wrong! I think it would have rounded out the look of the interior, my ML350 has the following:

Running Boards w. the Illumination Kit

At least this forum is around for us to ask questions and get excited about our cars with people who are equally into it!
