Sometimes the need for speed is believed...
In 1991, some colleagues were driving back late in the night from the Air Ops HQ to their accomodation in Riyadh. They noticed a civilian car following them, it stayed there through quite a few turns. So they speeeded up - as did their shadow. Finally they drove into the secure compound, stopped, and made sure that their handguns were readily available.
To their surpise, 2 arabs got out of the other car and demanded to know what they were doing. There then followed one of those "We thought you were acting suspiciously"..."Well, we thought YOU were!" discussions - until the aircrew and Saudi secret police laughed it off, said good night to eachother and went their separate ways!
