Hi, I have had several pieces of work done at Young St, ask for Kurt.
613-234-2910. Pricing seems reasonable and the quality of work consistent.

I'll second this recommendation.

Brand new S-Class or 70s Classic, I'd trust Young St, over any MB dealer.
any similar trusted locations in Ottawa? thx,
I've only been a member of this board for a month or so, but my experience with Young Street Garage has been extremely positive. I stopped by there today to just ask a couple of questions and they sent one of the mechanics out on to the street with me to go over my ML320 and answer my questions. Amazing!

The same can't be said for the two MB dealers here in Ottawa. I tried them both and was incredibly disappointed. They blew me off and said I'd have to wait 2 weeks (Ogilvie) and 4 weeks (Star) for an appointment. Forget it.
Hi everyone, I'm from Ottawa & looking to purchase a 2011 ML550... so you all think Young St garage is the place to go for maintenance besides the stealership? Just curious, how much a regular routine oil change cost there vs the dealership? Thanks for helping a newbie.
Young street is the palce to go and yes Kurt is the man. Had my B service done on my SLK230 and he called me before doing any work and offered his advice on what had to be done vs what could wait...very happy and wont be going anywhere but to Younge st garage

My baby is happy and runs like a dream
Is warranty still good if maintenance done outside of the stealership?
Folks, I am new to this forum but wanted to thank you for your tips on the garage. I just picked up a ML320 and it is great to know that there is a decent mechanic out there who can keep it running correctly.

Cheers,
Hi,
I would HIGHLY suggest Car Motive on 4110 Leitrim Rd. The owner is called Matte, very good service and great work. The price is also good. He specializes in BENZ, VW, AUDI.
I had some suspension work done, my car drives great. Tell him Phil (with the green Mercedes) sent you.
Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has and wouldn't mind sharing any experiences they might have had with a place called the Sports Car Factory. Thank you.
Advice needed

Hi,

I've just read those posts and it seems that Young St is the place to go to in the Ottawa area.

I'm about to go look at a 1970 220D manual trans, but I've never owned 1) a mercedes and 2) a car that old.
Any suggestion on what to look for? I'd bring it to those guys to have it thoroughly checked, but in the meantime I'm a bit worried about getting parts if needed and the price.
The car itself is cheap but still... maintenance could be a deal breaker.

Is there any older MB models enthusiast around Ottawa that I could meet with to get advice? I love to teach as much as I love to learn.

:)

No, maintenance done outside of the dealership will void the warranty if they find out about it. I still suggest Young St to anyone though. I have had to deal with many garages across canada (as much as I love my car, it did have a few problems during the occasional road trip), and Young St is the best one I know of.
^^ this is completely false. No warranty requires you to do your service at the dealership. As long as you keep a proof of record on all the maintenance performed, then the warranty is still good in case of beak-down.

Maintenance issues can be a pain in the ass but honestly, you are looking at buying a 41yr old car. The key is to appreciate it for what it is, a classic car.

I believe MB Canada has a restoration facility in Canada for old/hard to find parts, so if you were in a real pickle you could most likely get the part rebuilt. I believe it is in the GTA, and I think there is one in Montreal. Montreal is where Star motors is going to send my AMG rims to restore them from some curb rash.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know Tapp Auto and how their dyno is? I'd like to do a run before starting upgrades. Pricing if known would be good also.
I found out the place where MB dealers in Ottawa and the Quebec region send the wheels for repair, it's Accueil, this is who Ogilvie deals with.

Who has the best price for Service A in the Ottawa area?

Wow, Accueil does some pretty impressive work! I may check with them for the repairs.

Are you looking for price between the two dealers or from an independent mechanic? I've only used Star motors when I'm in the Ottawa area, I found their service to be quite good. Very professional. I've never had my A service performed there though. Prices seemed reasonable overall.
I'm taking mine in to have the iPod Integration kit installed next Monday, I'll check out the prices for service A, I'm just afraid if I don't use a MB dealer it might void my warranty or it might be an excuse for them in the future.
New to Ottawa. Moved from Montreal. Need a good repair plac ehere for my s430 2004. What is the address for Young Street garage?
