I'll second this recommendation.
Brand new S-Class or 70s Classic, I'd trust Young St, over any MB dealer.

No, maintenance done outside of the dealership will void the warranty if they find out about it. I still suggest Young St to anyone though. I have had to deal with many garages across canada (as much as I love my car, it did have a few problems during the occasional road trip), and Young St is the best one I know of.Is warranty still good if maintenance done outside of the stealership?
Maintenance issues can be a pain in the ass but honestly, you are looking at buying a 41yr old car. The key is to appreciate it for what it is, a classic car.Hi,
I've just read those posts and it seems that Young St is the place to go to in the Ottawa area.
I'm about to go look at a 1970 220D manual trans, but I've never owned 1) a mercedes and 2) a car that old.
Any suggestion on what to look for? I'd bring it to those guys to have it thoroughly checked, but in the meantime I'm a bit worried about getting parts if needed and the price.
The car itself is cheap but still... maintenance could be a deal breaker.
Is there any older MB models enthusiast around Ottawa that I could meet with to get advice? I love to teach as much as I love to learn.

Wow, Accueil does some pretty impressive work! I may check with them for the repairs.I found out the place where MB dealers in Ottawa and the Quebec region send the wheels for repair, it's Accueil, this is who Ogilvie deals with.
