hey everyone, ive been a member for a while but have put off the mods on my SECs for a while due to buying and modding a new w203 sportoupe so i'll be posting new im sure discussed topics but i will search the boards first.
i have a 1983 380sec that i transplanted a euro 500 84 motor in, put an 89 560 full interior in, and turned it into a convertible with euro lights, brabus exhaust, 18" rims and 3/4 of an authentic amg bodykit look and see!

i did most of the work myself, except for the paint booth--i was broke it down to nothing and then rebuilt it from the ground up with the help of an old California car builder
First we cut off the rockers and reinforced the uniframe with channel iron with welds every 3-4 inches, which extends from the front to rear jack support holes. then made custom rocker panels from thick sheet metal, rolled it to form and rewelded it to the car. then molded the amg side skirts to the car and then cut the roof

i will post more pics once i get them put on cd
i had 3 sec's to pull pristine parts from and bought every inch of the chrome and trim from the stealership, the grill is also brand new- it is far from a show car but looks the way i want it to.

Had to get them, but WHERE!?? I've only every seen those twice on Ebay, and the second time I almost bid on them and didn't even realize they where Rials! The seller had them advertised as W140 wheels in 18, I emailed him to tell him they couldn;t possibly be 18, and he emailed back a pic of the 18 x 8 stamped in the back![:I]The pics were completely unmounted, and off the car and no tire, the look exactly like W140 wheels. I wanted them for my 190, but was too scurred too go 18 on a 190, plus the offset was wrong.

Sorry to get long winded, but WHERE did you get them?

I bought the car 7 years ago for 1600$ from a neighbor and pushed it to my house--it was previously owned by a Tampa Buccaneer ----he blew up the timing chain and you know what happens then [B)]

I let it sit for 3.5 years until the 500euro sel i had got rear ended full speed by a jeep wrangler, Time for the motor swap inc a rebuilt tranny! ,

Every summer now been putting it back together from e bay and other donor cars piece by piece, still needs to be converted to the european obd1 setup and computer (which i have), so it is running a little rich with no Kats or o2 sensor and will need some tech advise later.
3.25 inch dual exhaust from barrel european headers to an early to mid 90s 500sl Brabus muffler which i purchaced and custom hung for 350$ sounds great

The rial rims i bought off e bay for 600$ brand new!!! that is cheap i think for them but the guy was supposed to send me a 5th rim in case one got bent and he never did[:(!] but i love them and am now slowly working on the suspension and bushings

hope i wasn't too long winded i am proud though!
