Boy i think this is Kyle again with his hands on an extremely rare well documented AMG built Widebody imported from Japan with the very rare AMG Germany built M119-M117 Hybrid 6litre engine mated to the later 4 speed 722-370 trans out of the early R129 chassis.

This engine has been of much debate over the last few years of where they were built as it was originally believed to be a mod carried out in Japan only.
But it has since been confirmed these unique M119 engines were commissioned and hand assembled by AMG in their German factory at the tail end of the W126 run and only a handful of these engines were ever fitted into the Widebody and all believed to snapped up by mostly wealthy Japanese buyers at an astronomical cost for this full package back in the day

The engine is an M119-960 5litre CIS KE-Jet with block bored out to 100mm / M117 560 crank dropped along with M117 conrods and custom pistons (believed to be Porsche 100mm pistons) / M117 dizzi drive pulley /M117 front timing cover / M117 Dizzi / M117 air intake filter & tubing / various other small mods to marry the engine/trans to the W126 chassis

The auction is on Ebay and the coupe is LHD and in Toronto
Bidding is already up to 47 bids and sitting at US$90,000

It is a beast and such a magnificent example - just stunning in every way and i would say with all the paperwork to hand a real hard-core collectors bargain
Enjoy

Yup. Been speculated already a couple of days in the "other" thread.

Yes, however this car deserves its own thread, and Kim does an excellent job of writing up the details in summary. Kudos!

I was almost sure this was a re-run of a already-seen one of Kyle's but apparently he gets new ones regularly via the Canada/VA route.

The condition of the car is excellent condition everything works perfect except the sunroof, with only 37,000 miles it runs like new.
With all the awesome going on with this car, the damn sunroof doesn't work? What the hell's up with that?

Somebody's going to end up with one helluva car.

What a car. I'll be honest. I don't care for the wide body kit. It looks too vulgar. I prefer the classic clean lines of the coupe. But the 6.0 v8 is a gem. If I had loads of money, I'd gladly get this car for 100k. It's rare one of a kind killer 126. Sunshades working or not.

So WTF is the reserve? I lost my balls to keep fishing for the reserve at $89,999. I can't figure out how I would explain to my wife that we should take out a mortgage to buy a car.

Anyone know how much the insurance is on a $100,000 car with a 6 liter engine?

Yeah. Come on. Reserve must be $90,000 or higher and you can't fix the sunroof and/or buy the curtains that are stated to be missing? That's just nuts.

I disagree. Nobody knows yet how much the seller (Kyle? Who's Kyle?) wants for the car yet. And a 6-figure car with a busted sunroof? Come on. The 1972 250c I bought for $500 has a working sunroof. :D

I think the entire auction is a brilliant marketing ploy to get people to do what we're doing right now.

Meh. Owning that car wouldn't make my life any better. :)

You are exactly right. Cars like this are rarely sold during the auction , but are often sold to someone who saw it in eBay and contacted Kyle offline

He gives them a story about how the bidder flaked "but look how high the market value is and how hot these cars are"

Then he sells it to the offline buyer for $80k or so, still doubling his money . And the offline buyer thinks they got a fantastic deal cheaper than the auction

He has been doing this for years , he doesn't import them to make only $10k
