Does anyone know what is a normal reading for the Oil gauge? (I know that rpm and ambient temp, driving time matter)
But what is too low? driving/stopped
too high? driving/stopped
I just had on oil change and the oil pressure reading "seems" lower (when I sit at a stop sign or stop light)(below 2)(When I accelerate and the RPMs increase it obviously goes up) I need to check the levels to make sure they filled it up to the required amount.

My baby is a 1999 so not exactly a new car but I am wondering if there is something to be concerned about? and proactively check out.

Thanks

Your readings are fine, so don't worry about it..

I would be curious what viscosity they used on your last oil change, and if it differed from any previous heavier viscosity?

Although checking your oil level may satisfy your curiosity... I don't think is related..

From alldatadiy.com for my S600:

"Oil Pressure Specifications
At normal operating temperature,(approx. 90°) oil pressure at idle must not drop below 0.3 bar, when throttle is blipped pressure must rise without delay and reach at least 3 bar at engine speed of 3000 rpm."

I'm pretty sure that the gauge graduations are in bar.

thanks alldatadiy.com

thanks for the info, I had never noticed that the needle can have such a variance between idle and driving. If my recollection is correct my oil pressure needle would go up to 3 when the car was in park and 2 at idle and 3 at "driving/higher rpm".
