I'm thinking about buying a 2002 S 600 with 110,000 miles. The car is in real nice shape, and runs fine, no misfires but has it has an oil leak. The dealer is willing to move quite a bit on this car, but won't fix the leak, because it may require that someone pulls the head, and or the intake manifold.

Question, is this a typical problem with this model, has anyone had any experience with this sort of issue on the V12 before?

This has been covered a lot here in the forums. Just dig a little...but the initial prognosis is that if the dealer won't work on it, they already know what's wrong and its got no alibi...it's ugly.

Soundks like it is probably the known oil cooler leak... and yes it is a big job but it has been done hundreds of times.

As Gabby suggests there are several threads on this issue here in the forum that will provide you more information and a baseline for the estimated cost of repair.
