Hello All...again,

Picking your brains again... on the OM 352 i found a plug directly behind the alternator, 19mm head and apppears to be 13mm in size, straight threads with a sealing washer. Is this a connection to the oil gallery? Also below that there is a large plug with a recessed hex socket connection... return to sump?

I'd poke around some more but it's too cold and snowy to be crawling around on the ground so I fabricated a 3 bolt exhaust flange to T04 flange adapter and I think I'll do some catalog poking around for adapters.

Any help would be appreciated to the exact sizes...

Cheers,
Greg

Here is the best photo I have on my of the turbo on my U1200, you can see the supply line going to it. The return line goes to the side of the sump.

On a side note, are you going to be putting an exhaust brake, after the turbo? It makes a huge difference, and saves on brake linings. You can see all of the exhaust brake components in this picture too.

Thanks Again SDO !

So that banjo type fitting pipes around to the top of the turbo bearing ? I think it's an M14x 1.5 . My manifold has a built in exhaust brake and terminates in the 3 bolt flange, so it'll be in front of my turbo.

Yes, there is also a return line that banjo bolts to the oil pan.

So your brake will be befor the turbo, I have never seen that before, sounds good.

The first one with the 19mm bolt sounds like the feed from the main oil gallery. That is where my OM352A gets it's feed for the turbo. Not sure about the recessed hex socket plug, but it looks like mine has that, too. My turbo drains directly into the oil pan. To see a photo, go to photos.yahoo.com/ericsmog, look in the album "Turbo Engine Swap" and select photo "Engine Front Left". I apologize in advance for the photo quality. Hard to remember back before digital cameras!

Hope this helps,
