Any one knows what the normal oil consumption for a 2008 ML 320 CDI is? MB tells me 1 litre every 1.000 Kms is OK. I'm adding 1 litre every 5.000 Kms.
The vehicle has 20.000 Kms and without signs of decreasing consumtion. I'm using the Mobil 1 recommend by MB.
I've had Diesel engines for ~30 years and I've never had one that burns so much oil.

Basically your adding 1qt every 3,000mi. You're doing fine, unless you got a leak somewhere.

Some of the gassers burn it too. My consumption is worse than yours but it's still within the same 1 liter per 1000 kilometers that you mentioned. MB also considers that normal for my 2001 E320.
