Do you check your oil right after shut down or after it has set enough to drain back into the crankcase?

You want to check your Oil after it has sat a while.
I like to check mine in the morning before I start the Engine. That way it for sure has had time to drain back into the Pan.

The manual states that you should check with the engine warm. It suggests checking the oil after fueling.

Give it about 10-20min to drain before you check.
