I'd lean towards do it yourself, if you can, it's really not that hard to do. My father thinks my brother and I are stupid for changing our own oil though. He says 'why not pay 20 bucks, they drain, change the filter, and dispose of it, you don't get dirty either!' I guess I like getting dirty!

Dealer is a no no, they are usually pretty expensive. If your car uses the goofy oil filter (which I don't think yours does) like mine, buy the filter yourself and have them change it. Though you can't trust them. Someone put mine in wrong and F'ed it all up. Mercedes had to put new parts in the filter housing or something... no charge luckily!

MB/Nate-se my answer to Nate under my post MPG back to normal. At first the change is a little intinidating, but it's really easy. However, if you have a good mechanic, he will make any necessary adjustments to the idle speed etc. makes a huge difference in how the car runs. DO NOT go to Jiffy, or Speedy- they have no clue what they are doing (usually a part time high school kids with less knowledge than any one on this page.

Manny is right - Do it yourself - but there is a lot of discussion when it comes to using Topsider and Oil change using the conventional drain plug.

I would still prefer the old way of removing oil. draining it from the bottom that is....
