How many quart of oil will my 98 230 hold? I'm planning to change the oil this weekend. Any recommendation on types of oil to use.

You will need a six pack of oil. The standard recommendation here has been Mobil 1 0w-40.

The rated capacity is 6.1 qts. If you drain the oil through the drain plug, then 6 qts will fill it up. If you use a topsider or other similar device and remove oil through dip stick, then it takes 6.1 qts to bring level to the full mark. Obviously removing through the drain plug does not quite get it all out. Also assuming you are changing the filter.
