Just purchased a 98 c230. Can I go to my local oil change place? Should I get a real mercedes filter? Is there any internal counter that needs to be reset?
DO NOT go to a local place as they will probably not replace the oil filter. Get an OEM filter such as Hengst, Mann, or Bosch. Oil change is a very easy DIY procedure.
Local places aren't bad.... you can watch them and see if they do the crap right... I worked at a local place and we had all the filters for most cars like benz.
