Hello all,

I am curious, my manual says my 2015 GLK350 4-matic has an oil capacity of 6.9 quarts/6.5 liters.

Where on the engine check dip stick would this be? Would it be at the top most mark of the dip stick?

Reason I ask, I siphoned out 6 liters. I check the oil level prior and it was on the lower 1/3 of the dip stick.

Maybe the dealer did not fill it all the way up? I am doing the oil changes from now on.

Thoughts?

Definitely do your own oil changes. It's so easy, you know it was done right, and you'll save a ton of money over a dealer service!

Attached is more than you would ever want to know about the Mercedes Dipstick.

I also attached the oil change procedure for good measure.

Thank you.

I believe my engine is a 276. Would you happen to have those guides?

You won't be able to drain/vacuum out all the oil. There will always be some in the passages and the oil filter retains quite a bit.

I like to have my oil level about 1/2 way between the two marks. No need to fill it all the way to the top.

I removed 6.3 quarts from the engine. The dip stick showed about 1/3 up from the MIN mark.

I added 6.5 quarts and its showing about 1/2 between MIN and MAX.

Max it takes 6.9 quarts. So, there is about 13 oz difference.
