Oil Cap (neck)

Has anyone ever removed this? It seems to be sweating oil. As far as plastic engine covers, I am not a fan. I would just like to remove the "neck", then replace the oil cap.

The gasket for the oil cap and the neck are the same, part #111 018 00 80. The neck twists off.
