My '08 GMC 2500 after market chrome grill top rail is bending all by itself. The grill was installed when the truck was new. It's slowly getting worse and worse. I never mess with it and don't have to get close to it to open hood. Any ideas why this top rail is getting wavy?

I'm guessing it is plastic?

Yep, it's heat - makes sense that the top row (heat rises) would be the first to go.

I've been surprised to see that W107 plastic grille pieces also warp over time. Good thing that these are just about the last inexpensive parts from MB on the whole car!

Why wouldn't the heat also warp the 2nd grill flat bar that's only a 1/4" lower than the top one? I realize heat rises but you really think the heat is only concentrated to the top bar?

Maybe so
