I've been casually looking around for rubber surrounds for my RHD mirrors. No luck so far
Expensive, until they're not available anywhere else, then they become cheap
I did go and look - I can still "see" that manual sitting in the glove box! I thought it could be that it was in the 300D. But not in either place. I have vague idea that I mailed that manual to a member here. So sorryGraham, yes Becker has that option and I've that aux input installed in Europa - I'll move it to Mexico. If you have the manual I'd be very interested in it.
I have a non-functional Grand Prix on my bench waiting for me to make up my mind if I want to get it fixed and have the upgrades installed at the same time.I haven't seen the Grand Prix lying around here lately. I think it had failed and I probably threw it out. Same with the Blaupunkt.
I also found some of the controls a bit lacking in clarity but I really didn't care. When I turned it on the antenna came up and sound came out of the speakers... that's all I needed the radio to do.To be honest, I never found that radio to be that great. Some of the controls were less than intuitive! It was on my 85 300D which doesn't need to be period correct And on those old diesels, it is the engine sound that is more important
Looks fantastic! But it seems your steering wheel is on the wrong side.Out with the old, in with the… old The radio is fantastic, made a huge difference to speaker volume and sound quality compared to Europa. I tested it briefly & everything seems ok: antenna goes up and down, cassettes play, wunderbar auto-seek picks up all stations - happy days!!
