Hello everyone,

I know this had probably been explained ad nauseum on the forum but I've been searching and can't find the information I'm looking for. What are the Part numbers for all of the seals that need to be replaced when the top is replaced (our top is original and they will all definitely need replacing)

Also, can the seals be replaced before or after it goes to the shop for the canvas fitting? We'd like to save $ and do ourselves if possible. Can a noob replace the seals?

Thanks everyone!

Since you feel it has been discussed ad nauseum, you would have been well advised to subscribe to the EPC. In the US, it is free. There you can look up any part nmber your heart desires... The link is in the sticky titled This Damned Old Car, otherwise know as the EGv107. You can also read other threads about replacing seals and soft top, among a host of other topics.

Good Luck With your search...

Thanks Ears, I wasn't trying to be rude RE: the "ad nauseum" thing, just figured people would jump all over me but I really did search with several terms!

Do you or anyone else know if the seals can be done before or after the top has been replaced or does it have to be done during the process?

Thanks for the link to find the part No's :)

You can buy the "shop manual" CD, copy the data files to your Mac, and then use the index for Macs that is referenced in the Encyclopedia. The shop manual is not the EPC, but it does help some.

The EPC CD set I bought was not Mac friendly; I activated Boot Camp and installed Windows 7, and was then able to use the EPC CD data (and the online EPC).

Why don't you do the whole job yourself?

You say "we".
I did it by myself..............so you are all set.

We would, but I think that would require a private garage. The closest thing out car gets to that is a parking structure until we get the paintwork and top done. Then we are going to get a storage unit..

As a side note nobby, you are awesome. have read tons of your posts.

Anyone have some money tree seeds laying around? :0
