That is good to know.I've heard that rule#1 for mercedes odometers is don't reset the tripmeter while driving. The odometer was working when I began the prepurchase test drive of my 91k mile '82 SL and quit when I hit the reset.
That was and still is on the winter "to do" list.
I too am not motivated to repair the one in the 280 I just bought. Too many other things to do.
