I've posted previous 'Odds and Ends' threads before, and here is another one. Number 4 ?

Just photos of UNIMOGs and things. 1 & 2 - The Involuntary Cabrio Option.
3 & 4 - Silly Ankle-Breaking Jump Drills.
5 & 6 - 'Bikes'.
7- Faux 'Rusted' paint job. Apparently the owner of this DOKA was impatient and could not wait for nature to take its course. It's not like it takes all that long...
8 - A lot of time spent in painting up the sidewalls of these XM-47's. Looks great. Not so dirt-friendly, maybe.
9 - Locking up in Japan.
10- Creative rock stacking after the flop. Zen exercise in the face of crisis ? The jack on the top of the one stack...

1 & 2- MB TRAC Intercooler logic - Cool the charge air via the intercooler, then heat it back up by kissing the exhaust system.
3 - Those wipers have a big job.
4. Just nice. I'd put a big Werner on the front, and trade the roll bar in the bed for a cab cage...if given the choice.
5. Oddball Indonesian DOKA with extra deep doors and a vent or exhaust (heater ?) blister behind the rear door. A heater in a part of the world where (in Singapore) they delete the heater ? Probably not. Compare the sheetmetal below the belt line to the blue DOKA that proceeds it.
6 - Early Design sketch of the Square Cab. Note the 406 type mirrors bolted to the cowl.
7 - Glad they did not go with this front end.
8 - Just looks completely wrong.
9 - Looking down on the newcomer .

You can see rollers and red (Werner) structure under the rear of the bed.

There may be a swivel fair lead in the front bumper as well, so you can pull the hook out from the front bumper and winch with that, or dead head the front hook and grab the bight at the rear with a snatch block, and pull from the back.

Here is an example. This one has the winch at the rear, but it could just as easily be mounted on the side. So, ignoring the winch, you see :
The Hook on the end of the cable emerging from the roller / swivel fairlead at the rear of the UNIMOG.
There are rollers and guides under the truck, as well as boxes and tubes to house the cable and guide it to the front of the truck, while keeping it clear of the UNIMOG's systems.
At the front, there are rollers, and a snatch block already in place, so this truck can winch itself Forward or Backwards, depending on whether you use the hook at the rear or the loop / snatch block at the front.
Also, there is a metal slug with a groove in it (yellow box) which is placed between the hook and the rollers when using the snatch block out front, to provide a good snubber for the hook, to prevent side load damage to the cable, the hook or swage.
