I cannot speak with authority here, as I've not removed a wheel on my 560. That said, having worked in dealership service departments, I think that the cap portion of the wheel stud is made of sterner stuff than plastic.
I've just scanned the parts page of my MB 560 book and came up with this pic. Leads me to believe either qa scrapyard or dealership will prove to be the reliable source.
