And he wants $7000 for that POS to boot. Lovely wiring job underhood, random wires everywhere. And all finished except for paint job, uh-huh. And the A/C, SLS, etc, etc. Oh, and the rims shown are not from the actual car.

Rat rod at best.
Wonder if ADS works.
Would love to hear the full story of the car from first owner to this.

Feel sorry for the car.

I have this curious fascination with finding out how cars end up like this.
I assume the first owner was a man of means. Then it probably went to another owner and another.
At some point the motor blew? Or the throttle actuators made it appear so?
Engine had to be toast for someone to just dump the car.

Current owner had to pick it up for free.

But still. That paint. Even if the car was left outside from 1992, no way it would look that bad. So I assume a cheap repaint at some point. Right rear back up lense is a bit newer, so collision is for sure. But the roof and hood paint failure ??

Either way, poor car went through hell and had a well deserved death ahead of it till someone put that 429 motor in it, which could be fast, maybe not. Who Cares. I’m sure it’s attached to 3 speed auto.

It hurts a bit more knowing that it was a v12 car. I’d be a bit more forgiving if it was a lesser model.

Maybe it was not originally a 600SEL. A fake engine could also mean fake badging.

Spoke to owner.

Car was bought from a tow shop.
Came with a bad head gasket.
Out the m120 came out and went to someone else for another project and in went in a 429 caddy motor.

The explanation was as simple and as sinister as I thought it would be.

I was more curious about the cars past before it got to the butcher lane.

Maybe I hold w140 to close to my heart because I had one. Or perhaps the first w140 v12 cars are so rare and special.

This is 60 minutes material here.

it would have been good for parts only IMHO, for the engine, modules, etc.
they sure blasphemed the hell outta it....a Caddy V8 is a decent engine,
but it doesn't belong in a 4 door MB by any stretch....
it's not better or worse mechanically, a damned good engine...
but holy cripes what a deranged engine swap that is...
just part the car out, junk it, then crush it, put it out of its misery already....
