OK, I have a 1990 500SL. The car does not have the auto levelling suspension, so I cannot legally upgrade to Xenon headlights. The inspectors look for illegal Xenon upgrades at the annual inspection ...

I have seen some Gen 3 R129s have "dual reflector" halogen lights (vs. my useless single reflector). [Actually low beam is OK, High beam is pathetic. I have replaced the bulbs with fresh "Blue" bulbs].

Has anyone upgraded from the single reflector to the dual version?

Thanks in adavance.

the body self leveling is one thing, and the xenon headlight self leveling is something completely different...

you can get the xenon retrofit kit from the dealer with all of the hardware needed to make the headlights self aim, up and down...

better yet, if you get your parts from the junkyard, you can get the stuff you need from a donor car, you need the harness, control module, level sensor for rear and front sway bars, and a bunch of brackets...
