I vote no.
you've got to be kidding...
did anyone else know that a well-placed hole and punch will release the convert cover? Or that the same in the trunk latch equally facilitates release?

c'mon... How clear does it need to be to be worthy of inclusion?

I'll happily second the lockout shortcut thread as it rectifies two design faults with our cars. When I have the time I'm going to follow the instructions and implement both of these great ideas. :wink

It is the trunk latch method. It won't work on a fully assembled 107 with the trunk closed. I don't see how there is enough clearance to access that hole. With it closed you can't use that angle with a punch.

Thank you for these links, very helpfull. It would be nice if these very informative writings and lessons can be found easily. H.D obviously knows all the KE jetronic tricks - now I have to buy duty cycle meter and check my SL mixture settings.

Replacement muffler installation on the 560SL video

The exhaust section of the EGV107 has nothing about replacing the muffler.

The video is under 4 minutes but it might be of interest to anyone searching for this exhaust procedure. Apologies if a self nomination is contrary.
Thanks to all who commented. I installed a Bosal aftermarket. Only trick is finding the right exhaust gaskets (actually one compression fitting and one male to male flange adapter with a 41mm ID). Documented it with my cell phone and was able to upload high def at 1080P, 4m.
