Just had the local garage fit a new head gasket for me - spensive! All working fine, except for some reason there's more engine noise in the cab now. I need to pop back to them early next week anyway, but in the meantime I thought I'd have a quick look. On the phone, they reckon the heater duct may have popped off - anybody else had a similar problem? Ta for your help :)

could'nt possibly be that the air cleaner isn't connected or is missing could it, i don't see why they would have desturbed the heater ducting or why it would suddenly fall off

Could be the heater duct. It's held in by 2 screws and it's obvious (it's on the RHS of the van as you look at it with the hood up. Have a squint at it. Other than that, dunno really. Run the engine with the hood up and see if it's noisier generally than what it was before.
