Noise from front right side, 600 SEL 1994

Hi,

My car is making a noise (like a rumble/like a wheel beraing that is worn) from the front right side of the car (approx front right wheel).

The noise is there when the car is cold and will fade out after driving a few minutes. After the noise is gone I can still get the car to make the noise by turning left (shifting weight to the, right by turning left).

I have tried the following to diagnose the problem:

1) Change wheelbering from one side to another

2) Change wheels (side)

with out any change.

Looking forward to hear your comments, thanks.

check your brake components.

is it a whining sound that goes up in pitch the faster the car goes?

try to cruise at a speed where you hear it most, then shift to N, does the sound stay the same?
its really hard to tell without looking at the car, but with the info you are providing, I would check the brake dust shield, and make sure its not touching the rotor. and make sure the wheel/tire is not coming in contact with the tires.

put the car on a jack, let someone stay in it and put the car in drive, let it sping the engine and the rear wheels in the air, see if the sound disappears...

this will exclude the engine, drive train, belt... steering pump from the blame...

also, looking at the car from underneath while suspended in the air will give you a more plain view and better idea of seeing what is making the sound...
Secondary air pump noisy as a bunch of nuts in a bucket... mine does the same thing.. needs lubrication and cleansing.. I am going to do mine... soon(ish)

If you dont have a 12.. you wont know about it...
This was actually the first thing I thought about, thats why I asked him to put the car in N to slow the engine down while going fast, he said the sound is road speed related and not engine speed dependant... leading me to believe its something within the front wheel, front suspension or drive shaft area...
Tire size is what it sounds like
hmmm, make sure you have 235/60/16 or equvl.

look for rubbing signs around the wheel .
