I have a 1999 W210 with Bose sound. Just put in an aftermarket DUAL radio. got a wiring adapter. Bluetooth on new radio didn't work so I replaced it with a JVC. Now none of the speakers work. no pops, crackles or rattles, nothing, just dead silence. The radio is working in all modes but no sound comes out. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Check the wires leading to the speakers from the back of radio and also check if there's a fuse in the back of the radio some have a fuse, maybe it was blown.

I'd start by plugging the OEM radio back in and see if you get anything.

Fixed it! thanks for all your suggestions. The am/fm amp connection was wrongly identified as a 'remote' connector in the installation instructions. Everything's fine.

Technically the instructions sound correct. The amp doesn't come on without a "remote" signal from the deck that it's on, so it is a remote connector. Same kind of idea as a remote signal for a powered antenna.

Glad to (ahem) "hear" you have it all squared away. ;)
