Hello all,everything else works fine with the command even dials out when I tell it to call home just no sound at all from anything all fuses are fine.I pulled the Amp out and checked all the fiber lines all is good but should be being it sees all the components in the loop I am thinking the amp died just wondering if I may be missing something...

with that d2b it could be anything. would be nice to pull codes and see what responds and what doesn't. possible sound amp. try disconnecting the battery for a few min and see if it comes back up. I think you would also need a radio code if you disconnect the battery....not % on that

All set disconnecting the battery for a few did the trick I never do the eazy stuff first...

I had same problem with my s320... All components ( COMMAND, CD changer, TELEPHONE module, Voice control unit, and AMP ) are connected with d2b optic cable,,, If one of those component doesnt work, whole sistem wouldnt have sound.. So, you need eliminate all, exepct COMMAND, Voice contol unit, and AMP)...
Car need those 3 component to have sound... another components are not matter..

If than you have sound problem is in other components(CDC, TEL,I m not sure if TV is included)....

If dont have sound, than is problem in COMMAND or AMP or voice control unit...

Also you can test d2b cable...Take some light on one side of cable, and if you see light on other side, d2b is OK..if there is not light , d2b is broken.. and do that with 3-4 d2b cable..

The author of original post tells that the problem is for his "2005 s55 AMG". How can it be that his 2005 car has D2B instead of MOST ring?

It doesn't have D2B, it has MOST - but the corrective procedures are the same. If removing components for the ring, different types of connectors are required for splicing either bus.
