Has key power, swapped module, distributor appears to be be pristine. Can I use a spark tester between coil & distributor to determine if coming out of coil?

Yes you can. but use a small engine spark plug tester. Do not use an HEI ignition tester because the gap is too big. I prefer the KD 2757 if you can still get it. The 2756 is HEI and may blow your ignition module $$$

Test lamp from coil neg to ground. Does it flash when cranking? If not ignition module not working. Do a continuity test on the ballast resistors. Rotors often short and direct spark to ground.
