Not sure how to properly categorize this issue or what's causing it.. 2003 e55 amg with v-tech tune longtubes split cooling. My issue is I cannot communicate with the ecu on the car with star only as its not detecting ignition position properly it keeps asking me to turn ignition on despite it being on obviously tried with car started and all other positions same problem. I can communicate no problem with any other scanner autel launch ect. V-tech had no issues loading up a tune onto the ecu overwriting the file works fine so its only with star something isn't allowing connection to the me2.8 .. Can communicate with all other modules via star but my testing capability are significantly limited with the can since it keeps telling me ignition on to perform tests with all the modules I did jump the alternator wires accidentally blew a 15amp fuse slot 60 in driver side sam replaced and everything else works fine not sure if something else is effected with ignition position dunno if its even that causing an issue. After trying to troubleshoot with star the only inconsistency I can find is terminal 15 Control unit N10/1 Driver side Sam is off instead of on there's a DTC for this as well In EZS. Can't do quick test either or most all the other tests despite the live data being there I'm hitting a roadblock with the ignition on thing even when I clear codes from any other module it asks to turn ignition on/off its not detecting the different key positions whatsoever... This star system Works fine with the other s55amg me2.8 detects ignition positions immediately so I'm confident its not the system itself heres some pictures of what comes up when trying to enter me2.8 or do a quick test or can test clear codes ect same issue arises
Update: After fully removing the driver side sam unit, ecu and disassembling sam inspecting and replacing a 7.5 amp blown fuse in slot 52 its now fully communicating and reading properly ! Happy wrenching !! No idea what actually fixed it...
