What dipstick would design a car with an electronic readout for oil level. Thankfully the newer cars have gon back to dipsticks for oil reading. I would like to get a dipstick for my 2002 C240 but the dealer wants $200.00 for it. ouch. What dipstick would pay that? We'll me i guess if I can't find a different option, the electronic read out isn't doing it for me! Are their any options?

i found a trick in getting the readout everytime.
You need to run the car for 5 mins( or it can be after driving somewhere)...then let it sit for 5 mins...then do the oil read out. Otherwise " Perf. Service on Time" all day long

I think I have one that I can sell you a lot cheaper...I will check the PN - I have never used it...

Jake

(By the way - I TOTALLY agree with you about the no dip stick thing - that is a LAME way to save a few bucks...Shame on you Mercedes-Benz...We should have a fool proof way to insure our oil is at the level! - and not "over filled" like so many people report after a dealer visit.)

$120 for a dipstick. $250 for a "key".

I swear, Mercedes are just insane. :p
