Just had left and right control arms and left outer tie rod done. $411 parts and $90 labor. Wonder how the stealer would have raped me on this? Thank God for independents!

$90 for labor? That's like $25/hr. Did you take a ferry over to Havana or something?

LOL

My mechanic charges me $30 an hour labor and finds the least expensive prices for parts online and does not mark the parts up. VERY hard to find in this day and age!

Where is he? I'll drive to Indiana for a deal like that!
I'm guessing Florida... ;)

floridabenzboi, I just hope your mechanic doesn't get the cheapest parts. There is some real junk out there that may not even last a year. Even with $30 labor, who wants to do it that often?

Enjoy the weekend and the smoother ride, too.

Did they do a wheel alignment after doing the front end work? If not you may need one.

I had outer tie-rod ends and lower ball joints done on my E320 at dealer in Canada. Cost me $1000 incl taxes and this included genuine MB parts and a wheel alignment. About 40% was labour.

No idea about Beck Arnley except that they aftermarket suspension parts. I use aftermarket for some parts, especially on my older cars. But for suspension on E320, I wanted dealer to do it according to book (proper torques etc).

China left outer tie rod is like $20 part (with or without quasi brand like Beck Arnley) - so my question is what you think was done on your left/right control arms - like bushing kit China is like $60

Having alignment done at MB for 125.

Never had one issue with any parts put on car in 3 years. Had new axles done 3 years ago., Not one issue. MB wanted $2,000. He did it for $700.

Just not a sucker for dealer rape. Sucks to find an honest and inexpensive mechanic, huh! lol
