it is confirmed. this car will land in my garage in 48 hours. it has a solid drivetrain and is very nice from the a pillars rearward. I'll have a VIN soon too and will run a datacard. once things settle, I'll post photos and let folks know what'll be available.

wow. I'm surprised not a single reply? I never get involved with parts cars so this one's gotta be good, no? I was supposed to get a call from the tow company yesterday, but I'm sure with the freeze here plus the holiday they're booked solid. maybe today?

hehe ok I'm getting parts requests flowing in. Once the car is in the garage and we inventory it I'll start posting up pictures. The guy that owns is is calculating and so he'l probably inventory things then want to sell them through ebay. I'm surprised I've not heard from the tow company yet.

Wait a minute, you mean the seller is going to part out the car and then sell you what is left? Not a good deal at all.

If/when you do get the car, please offer the parts for sale to the people who ask for them in they order that they ask...?

cheers

no. I am providing space and parting assistance in exchange for priority in picking the nice blue interior for the bits I need for my restoration.

I get to take my time and calculatedly remove the pieces I need in a clean, warm, dry environment side by side with my own car. If you've not replaced interior trims around the hatch area before, you won't get it. I'm quite motivated to participate in this job for my own purposes. ;)

I found out today the body shop the car is stored at has been closed for the weekend and so Monday it probably will be. The only situation that would make this not happen is if someone locally was to purchase the car outright for a big price between now and Monday, and we just don't see that happening.

I have time stamped requests in IM and on this thread, as well as emails from folks that have replied to his craigslist ad. Everything will be first come, first served. Money talks. I think a lot of the stuff will end up on ebay so there is some form of middle party.

This part-out is not a junk sale. This car has nice quality replacement parts and everything will be handled with care in a climate controlled environment.

If you wouldn't mind posting your "how I replaced my D-pillar" notes, I would greatly appreciate it. I need to do this and just from removing the D-pillar from junked wagons I see it is going to be difficult to install them. Much more difficult then removing them. So any tips would be appreciated...
thanks

yup. to do it right, you should pull the C glass, which I intend to do as I damaged one of my seals after countless install/reinstalls during paint. I also need to remove the glued down vinyl trim on the hatch itself on one side, near the top left corner. this is going to be fun.

OK, the car is in my garage. First noteworthy thing is that the car was originally equipped with a double roller but the roller is missing. the hardware is on the car.

I'll have a datacard in a bit
