If anyone has a second, can you let me know if the CLK has a timing chain, rather than a timing belt? I've been looking at Audi's for the AWD but, I hate the thought of an engine run on rubber. Basically $2k every 70k mi's.

Run a search on the forums for "timing chain". There's a couple of threads out there that discuss this. I'm sure it's timing chain and not timing belt.

I definately tried that first. I'm always on the DallasStars webpage and hate when newbies ask repeat questions. Most of the links are not specific. Some say Timing Belt and some Timing Chain.

Usually there's about three guys who really know the in's and out's. Hoping one of them can help.

In any case, I called the dealership just to be sure and they said that it would cost:

$183 for the timing chain
$327.50 for parts and labor for timing chain and tensioners

seems almost TOOO reasonable....I wonder if they made a mistake?
